1926 Jacques Baumann, who at that time was a tax commissioner in Strassburg in the Alsace, founded a real estate agency in Cologne at Antwerpener Str. 3.

1931 after completing his university entrance diploma at the Friedrich-Wilhelm Gymnasium, his son, Erwin, joined the company as a partner.

1 July 1931 the company Baumann & Sohn Immobilien- und Treuhand KG was entered in the commercial register.

1952 the business premises at Flandrische Strasse 12, which had been destroyed in the war, were rebuilt to incorporate the neighbouring property at number 14 and the property at Lütticher Strasse 1-3.

1954 Jacques Baumann passed away and his son, Erwin Baumann, took over the company together with his siblings, Karl-Heinz Baumann and Lotte Pietzsch née Baumann.

Whilst Karl-Heinz Baumann, as head of property management, built up the insurance department, Lotte Pietzsch took over the daily administrative work.

In the golden years of the real estate sector, Erwin Baumann was president of the RDM - Ring Deutscher Makler (the Association of German Estate Agents) - from 1962-1966 and remained honorary president until his death in July 2008. In March 1974 Erwin Baumann received the German Federal Cross of Merit on ribbon.

In addition to his activities as a real estate agent, which he continued into advanced years, Erwin Baumann also worked with his brother, Herbert Baumann (BAUMANN + SCHMITZ) on projects of his own.

1975 Michael Baumann, representing the third generation of the family, joined the company as a limited partner. In 1987, following his successful graduation in real estate business administration, he became general partner of the private limited partnership.

2001 the fourth generation, Tobias Baumann, the son of Michael Baumann, joined the company as a partner in order to continue the company's family tradition.

2004 Sebastian Baumann, also a son of Michael Baumann, joined the family company and, as of 2006, took on responsibility as a partner.

On 1 July 2006 the company celebrated its 80th anniversary.
